No animals were lost when a hog confinement building in Jackson Township burned early Friday morning.
Fire departments from Scranton and Jefferson, the sheriff and deputies, and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the fire at 5:06 am in the 1900 block of I Ave, just north of County Road E-57.
The fire was in the rafters of the metal building. The cause is thought to be electrical. The building was a total loss.
Firefighters were challenged by the cold weather, as some water pumps and valves froze. Fire scenes become icy quickly in cold weather.
